Government Pathologist Johansen Oduor, renowned for his post-mortem examinations in many high-profile cases, has been offered a two-day holiday trip to a safari lodge in Tsavo, Taita Taveta County.

Kenyan acclaimed hotelier Mohammed Hersi took to his social platforms on Friday to heap praise on Oduor's work ethic and professionalism.

Hersi referenced Oduor's latest case in conducting the autopsy of 20-year-old Rita Waeni, whose body was found dismembered in a dustbin in Roysambu.

After conducting a post-mortem examination on Waeni's body this past Tuesday, Oduor was shocked by her death, stating that he had never witnessed such a gruesome murder in his career.

According to Hersi, the pathologist deserves to unwind for his endearing work.

"He is not in this for the money. Late Waeni's case has traumatised him and he deserves a break with his better half. If you know him, he has a weekend at Salt Lick Lodge to relax and unwind. Dr Oduor you deserve it," Hersi explained.

The hotelier noted that the pathologist would be picked up at the Madaraka Express Station at Voi on the fully paid-for trip.

Located at the heart of Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary, Salt Lick Lodge is famed for being among the World's Most Photographed Lodges.

"Will pick you up from the train Madaraka Express station at Voi and you get to experience the most photographed lodge in Kenya and its sister lodge Taita Hills Safari Resort and Spa Taita Hill resort inside Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary Taita Sanctuary all on full board," he added.

Following the announcement, Bosire Wairimu, the founding Executive Director of the Africa Centre for Health Systems and Gender Justice, reached out to Hersi and shared the pathologist's contact.

On the other hand, other medics expressed their willingness to be coached by the pathologist. Others also sought Oduor to share his experience in a novel or podcast, noting: "What he has seen through his forensic practice life can never be comprehended."

In his career, Oduor has been synonymous with notable cases as the state pathologist. In a past interview, he revealed that his life revolves around work as he wakes up at 5:00 am and stays up until midnight.

Aside from his duty, Oduor loves enjoying 'nyama choma' with his friends as well as spending time with family.
