CCTV footage surfaced on Sunday, January 28, showing three suspected burglars raiding an apartment located in Parklands, Nairobi.
The footage showed the robbers arriving at the apartments located on Wambugu Road at around 11:30 am.
According to the video capturing the incident, the three who were of Indian descent arrived at the apartment using a white saloon car.
The suspected robbers did not make an effort to hide the number plates of the saloon car raising suspicion that the plates were likely faked.
With a sense of familiarity and lack of any visible hurry, the three entered the apartment at different intervals.
It was reported that after ransacking the apartment, they got away with valuables worth millions.
While pictures of the ransacked apartment were shared, the CCTV footage availed did not capture the moment goods were taken out of the house.
Experts remarked that considering how the apartment had been turned over, the burglars were after a specific item like a document or jewellery.
Additionally, the familiarity of the surroundings exhibited by the suspected robbers indicated that this was likely not their first time visiting the area.
Being one of the upmarket neighbourhoods in Nairobi, the apartments in Parklands are usually under 24-hour surveillance.
That the three suspected burglars were able to bypass security easily, experts interpret it as an internal job undertaken with the collusion of the security officers.
It was not immediately clear if the suspected robbers were able to lay their hands on what they were looking for.
