A Kenyan woman passed away in Brisbane Australia in the South of Wales on Thursday night, in a car crash that involved two cars.

The woman who was identified on Saturday hails from Turbo in Uasin Gishu County and was on her way to work when the accident occurred.

Details of the incident reveal that the 21-year-old was travelling as a passenger in one of the cars, a Hyundai Elantra.

Preliminary reports of the incident indicated that the Hyundai Elantra crossed onto the opposite side of the road and struck a Holden Colorado utility.

The driver of the Hyundai also passed on in the incident, with both passengers passing away on the spot.

Announcing the death, an association of Kenyans based in South Australia, confirmed that the lady had moved to Australia for work.

Further, they confirmed that she had only lived there for a year after her relocation.

“Its with profound shock and disbelief to announce the untimely demise that occurred on the 7th of February  2024 in Brisbane where she had gone to work. She was involved in a road accident and she died on the spot", read the announcement.

The announcement further requested Kenyans to stand in solidarity with the family as they plan to repatriate the body to Kenya for her burial.

In a puzzling series of events, the 21-year-old woman is the third Kenyan to pass away in an accident in Australia in 2024.

Two weeks ago two Kenyan students were involved in a crash along the highway when the car they were travelling in hit a tree.

The two students who were allegedly racing, died on the spot after their car burst into flames delaying rescue efforts.

Both students who hailed from Nandi County, succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced dead on the spot.
