A 41-year-old Kenyan man died in the US on Monday, February 5, after his car lost control and crashed into a tree, in the Laurel area of Mississippi, US.

Officers from the Anne Arundel County Police Department were puzzled by the nature of the accident as they received a call in the wee hours of the morning, reporting the crash but could not trace the eyewitness.

Upon arrival, on February 5 around 1:40 am, they found the Kenyan man identified as Duke Kepha Mwebi in critical condition.

The caller, who never identified himself was, however, nowhere to be seen.

Nonetheless, the officers processed the scene as investigations into the case commenced.

Police reported that Mwebi was driving a Mercedes along Brock Ridge Road when he lost control. Investigations pointed toward him failing to negotiate a left-hand curve thereby veering off the road into a tree.

Paramedics from Prince George's Hospital pronounced him dead at the scene, adding that he succumbed to fatal injuries sustained from the impact of the crash.

Detectives attached to the case plan to release an extensive report based on an autopsy that will be conducted by the Examiner's officer in Baltimore.

The accident comes less than a month after another Kenyan died in a car crash in Massachusetts

Reports indicated that the Kenya national's truck veered off the road crashing into another unoccupied pickup.

Eyewitnesses added that the Rockland resident was speeding down the road when the accident occurred.

Firefighters who deployed to the scene to administer first aid to the victim pronounced the 34-year-old dead, indicating that he passed away on the spot.
