Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi on Sunday, March 10, revealed that he had set his eyes on the Uasin Gishu gubernatorial seat currently held by Jonathan Bii Chelilim.
Speaking during a fundraiser at AIC fellowship Annex Eldoret, Kesses Constituency, Uasin Gishu County, Sudi remarked that he had enough experience to lead the county.
He added that to foster unity and peace in Uasin Gishu, he would first let Chelilim finish his two terms before contesting.
The MP noted that 2027 would be his last time to vie as an MP. Should he be successful, he will have represented Kapseret for two decades.
Oscar Sudi further credited himself for ending political squabbles and bad blood amongst Uasin Gishu County leaders.
“I am a real engineer although many people think it is a joke but I make many connections (political),” he joked.
He added that Chelilim, Julius Bitok (former gubernatorial aspirant and current Principal Secretary, State Department for Immigration and Citizen Services) and Jackson Mandago (Senator) were speaking in one voice to his intervention.
On how he would become a governor, he explained that he would dissuade Bitok from trying his hand at the gubernatorial position again.
He explained that he would sit down with the trio and lobby for Bitok to become a Cabinet Secretary in 2027.
“We will push Chelilim to finish his term and go home and then I come in,” he declared his interest.
He added that he would expect the leaders to support him just like he has been supporting them over the years.
