Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has accused the government of sponsoring the High Court order barring the implementation of the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) report.

In a statement released on Saturday, March 30, Kalonzo claimed that the ruling was a deliberate scheme to interfere with the conclusions agreed upon at the Bomas of Kenya.

“Yesterday's High Court orders stopping the implementation of the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) Report is State Sponsored,” he stated.

The Azimio la Umoja Coalition Principle further termed the Kenya Kwanza administration as liars, for going back on agreements made regarding the report.

“The Kenya Kwanza regime has never had goodwill and faith and this is the problem in Kenya,”  he added.

“This State Sponsored court action must stop."

A High Court in Nyeri suspended the implementation of the report following a case filed by activist Michael Muchemi.

Muchemi further argued that the submission of the dialogue report threatens the country’s rule of law, citing the call for an audit of the 2022 general election.

The activist noted that the audit of the results falls outside the constitutional framework, as it cannot overturn the decision made by the Supreme Court.

In a ruling passed by Lady Justice Dora Chepkwony, the court prohibited the second and third respondents from convening any session to discuss, approve, adopt, or appoint a panel to execute chapter two of the report.

"If this application is not treated as extremely urgent and certified as such, the underlying constitutional concerns raised in the pleadings below may remain unaddressed,” Chepkwony ruled.

The NADCO report was presented to President William Ruto and Azimio leader Raila Odinga on March 8. The committee was chaired by the National Assembly Majority leader Kimani Ichung'wah and Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
