Four government agencies including the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) have announced plans to auction items in their possession.
Through different notices carried out in today's dailies, the agencies began the process of hiring auctioneers to facilitate the process.
Items on the line include obsolete and unserviceable vehicles, office furniture as well as electronic equipment among others.
TSC advertised that it was planning to open the auction process beginning Tuesday, April 9, until Wednesday, April 17, 2024.
Bidders will be allowed to visit the site on Tuesday, April 9, which holds unserviceable, surplus, obsolete items and boarded motor vehicles.
EACC, on the other hand, opened its tender process for bidders willing to bid on obsolete and unserviceable assorted items, scrap and motor vehicles, which closes on April 17.
The Commission also floated tenders for the provision of repair and maintenance service for motor vehicles on framework agreement as well as maintenance of water pumps and sewer pumps.
The Commission for University Education has also announced plans to dispose off boarded assets, without breaking down the type of assets on the line.
"Commission for University Education invites sealed tenders from eligible candidates to purchase boarded assets on 'as is where is' basis without any encumbrances," the agency advised, pegging the deadline at April 16.
"Interested tenderers may view and inspect the assets during office hours at the Commission for University Education Headquarters through the Office of Head of Supply Chain Management."
The National Museums of Kenya had also earlier announced that it was in the process of offloading obsolete and unserviceable items from its stores and vehicles, and had requested interested bidders to submit applications before April 16.
This follows mass auction announcements by five agencies in February this year which include the Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO).
On February 20, KALRO placed items ranging from motor vehicles to various household items in an auction process that lasted for three weeks.
Other organisations were the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) and the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC).
In some of the auctions, motor vehicles sell for as low as Ksh100,000.
