Walter Mong'are popularly known as Nyambane was on Wednesday, April 3, dismissed from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with immediate effect.
In a memo signed by Foreign Affairs Principal Secretary Korir Sing'oei, Nyambane will no longer hold the position of Director of Programmes (Advocacy and Outreach).
The reason for the termination was, however, not disclosed.
Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, sources privy to the matter also confirmed the authenticity of the document detailing Nyambane's dismissal.
Sing'oei also instructed all director generals and heads of Departments, Divisions and Units to refrain from interacting with Nyambane in an official capacity.
"This is to inform that Mr. Walter Onchonga Mongáre, Director of Programmes (Advocacy & Outreach) is no longer authorized to act in any capacity on behalf of the State Department or myself," the memo read in part.
"This is therefore to instruct you to refrain, with immediate effect, from any official interactions and/or engagement with Mr. Mongáre."
Before venturing into politics, Nyambane rose to national prominence for his bold style of comedy mimicking former President Daniel Moi in the hit show Redykyulass.
After achieving on-screen success, Nyambane would later test his mettle in the Kenyan political landscape by first going for the highest office in the land.
Mong'are announced his presidential bid in the August 2022 General Election under the Umoja Summit Party.
He was the first candidate to be cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on May 30, 2022.
A month later, the commission, however, revoked his nomination certificate after he failed to honour the summons over his academic qualifications.
