Autopsy results for Kisii-based blogger, Duke Nyabaro have revealed that he was strangled to death manually.

According to the autopsy conducted at Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital, the pathologists detailed that the blogger is said to have died due to a lack of oxygen supply to his brain caused by strangulation.

The results which were given to the family on Monday cemented the family's belief that the blogger, who is also a teacher in Migori county, was murdered.

Additionally, the Bonchari Member of Parliament, Charles Onchonke, who was in the company of the family, confirmed receiving the results and pushed the police to conduct investigations into the incident.

Nyabaro’s body was found dangling on a kiosk front on Sunday morning, in Kisii, with a rope around his neck depicting a possible suicide case.

However, the residents and the family raised alarm over the death stating that the kiosk’s infrastructure was not strong enough to hold the man’s body.

Further questions were raised as the teacher’s body was found dry yet heavy rains had rocked the town all night.

Nyabaro went missing on Saturday night after a night out with his friends at an entertainment joint in Suneka.

He is said to have left and moved to another entertainment joint in Kisii with his friends who have since recorded statements with the police.

Kisii County Commander Charles Kases has confirmed launching a probe into the mysterious death.

The blogger's death is one among those witnessed recently in the country raising concerns about them being targeted.

On March 8 a blogger named Peris Mugera, from Tharaka Nithi, was found dead and her body dumped in Kirinyaga after she went missing for a week.

The death came several months after her employer was found dead in his car with a gunshot wound in his car with the police stating that he had committed suicide.
