Africa's Richest Man To Invest About Sh154 Billion in Kenya

African's richest man Aliko Dangote has sealed a deal to build a cement plant in Kenya.

Dangote, through his Nigerian based company Dangote Group, signed the deal worth about Sh.154 Billion with a Chinese firm to start construction of the plant in Kanziku-Simisi, Kitui County.

The Nigerian dollar billionaire told reporters at the signing ceremony in Lagos that the plant would be completed within 30 months.

According to The East African Dangote Group together with the Chinese firm, Sinoma International Engineering Company, plan to build other plants in Zambia, Senegal, Niger, Mali, Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire Ghana and Nepal, India.

The project is expected to increase cement production to 100 million tonnes by 2020 and will also involve installation of equipment as well as mining, quarry and power facilities.

In 2014 Forbes Magazine ranked Dangote as the 67th richest man in the world.
