Alex Chamwada Joins President Uhuru Kenyatta's Campaign Team

Former Citizen TV reporter Alex Chamwada has landed a new job in President Uhuru Kenyatta's campaign team as a communication specialist.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, Chamwada confirmed that he will offer Kenyatta's campaign team consultancy services on a part-time basis.

“I am a consultant and not employed by anyone. I consult for different people including corporates and media houses. What is happening is that they approached me for consultancy services and that is what I will offer but not permanent employment,” the award-winning journalist stated.

Chamwada boasts vast experience in the communications field and also holds a Master’s degree in Politics and Mass Media from the University of Liverpool.

The Campaign team was recently appointed by the President and his deputy William Ruto to spearhead Kenyatta's re-election bid and Chamwada will assist with the communication strategies.

Chamwada worked for Citizen TV from April 2008 – November 2014 before he left and began his own media house – CHAMS Media.

He began his two shows Chamwada Report - a current affairs show on development issues and Daring Abroad – a series that focuses on life-changing stories of Kenyans working or doing business abroad.

In the same year after leaving Citizen TV, he entered into an agreement with the Standard Media Group where he airs the two shows on KTN.

Since then, the journalist has won several awards including the latest OLX Soma Awards as the Most Influential Media Personality Award of 2016.
