Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has found himself on the receiving end after circulating photos in which he posed with minors.
Mr Mutua, who was publicising a road his Government launched in Kakuyuni, was capture in the pictures with children who did not have shoes. A section of the public was irritated by this, accusing Mr Mutua of taking PR stunts a bit too far.
Many told the Governor that the children were more in need of shoes other than the tarmacked road while others highlighted that Mutua was simply using the children for political gain.
Top Nairobi lawyer, Ahmednassir Abdullahi, highlighted that the Governor was in contravention of the Children Acts.
Two girls and 2 boys have no shoes. The girl to his right has one shoe..this picture is childrens expolition and offends the Childrens Act. https://t.co/i4voVNj3Ft
