Parents Forcefully Get Back Transferred School Principal

Ordinarily when a good teacher or principal is transferred from a school, students and parents get disappointed for the first few weeks then life gets back to normal.

However, at Heroes High School in Nakuru parents did not take the transfer of Principal Hilda Muriuki kindly and decided to take matters into their own hands.

Ms Muriuki had been moved to Kirobon Girls High School in Rongai Sub-County under unclear circumstances, forcing parents of the previous institution to storm the school in three public vehicles demanding her reinstatement.

The angry parents were blocked from accessing the Kiribo School by the guards manning the gate but remained adamant in their course.

Ms Muriuki decided to go out and calm the situation but her efforts were futile as she was carried shoulder high to a vehicle which drove her back to Heroes High School where she was welcomed with great jubilation.

According to a report by the Nation, parents stated that there was mischief in the transfer of Ms Muriuki as the handing over was allegedly done at night, immediately schools opened for second term.

She had been replaced by Jane Mwangi who was transferred from Kirobon after a fire razed down a dormitory when Form Four students were in school for holiday tuition, against a directive by the Ministry of Education.

Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri who visted the school pleaded with parents to follow proper channels in handling the matter, adding that Education Cabinet Secretary had informed him that the transfer had been canceled.
