Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli has been dealt a set back after the court threw out his libel case against suspended Labour CS Kazungu Kambi.
According to Capital Fm, Atwoli had sued Kambi for damages amounting to Sh500 million accusing Kambi of defaming him over the murder of former Kabete MP George Muchai.
Citizen Tv reports that Atwoli said that his image was tainted following the alleged remarks by Kambi during Muchai's funeral.
The ruling was passed by Justice Alfred Mabea.
Mbea said Atwoli's case had no sufficient evidence to prove the defamation claim.
He added that the orders sought by Atwoli were too general and ambiguous to grant the damages, Hot 96 reports.
Atwoli says he will appeal the ruling.
