Babu Owino Speaks Out on Controversial Letter Addressed to IG Boinett

Babu Owino has denied allegations by Westlands Member of Parliament, Timothy Wanyonyi connecting him to a letter that calls for his own arrest.

Timothy Wanyonyi who is the undersigned in the letter seeking the arrest of Babu Owino, for allegedly holding early campaigns in his constituency, has disowned it saying Owino may have written it.

Mr Wanyonyi told The Star that the letter addressed to the Inspector General of Police had a fake signature, adding that the letter head was not his and that the language used was unlike him.

However, speaking to Kenyans.co.ke,  the Student Organization of Nairobi University(SONU) Chairman said that the letter was clearly signed by the current Westlands MP.

Babu further argued that if the letter was his, he would have signed it himself.

In the letter, it is claimed that Babu who aspires to become the next Westlands MP has been campaigning yet the elections were still far. Babu retorted by stating that he had not started the campaigns and was only engaged in helping people in the constituency.

The controversial student leader went ahead and said that he was not cowed by Wanyonyi.

“We will not fear him (Wanyonyi), we will face him with the same force he has come with,” affirmed Owino.

The Westlands MP on Tuesday recorded a statement at the CID revoking the letter.
