Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi representing the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) will no longer stand for teachers in court.
The City lawyer withdrew from the teachers' legal team after an application that sought to disqualify the judges presiding over their case was dismissed by the Court of Appeal.
In the application, the Senior Counsel cited that the bench of judges was handpicked and micromanaged stating that any decision the court would make was already compromised.
The court however ruled that the union's allegations of impropriety were not substantial.
The Court of Appeal noted that the union had no good reason to disqualify judges Erastus Githinji, Philomena Mwilu, Festus Azangalala, Martha Koome and James Odek from the case.
Abdullahi who had presented the petition before the five judges withdrew from the case, after the court dismissed it leaving lawyers Paul Muite and Kioko Kilukumi to continue the battle.
Abdullahi had earlier stated that President Uhuru Kenyatta had interferred with the lawsuit, after he made a public address in regards to the teachers' pay dispute yet the matter was still in court.
