Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto Warns KANU Seceretary General Nick Salat for Calling Him Former Governor

Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto has taken a swipe at the Kenya African National Union (KANU) Secretary General Nick Salat for calling him a "former governor".

Speaking at the JKL show on Citizen TV, Governor Ruto reacted mockingly to a message from the KANU Secretary General to the show's host, Jeff Koinange, that he was going to be voted out by the people of Bomet in the August polls.

Ruto dared Mr Salat to repeat the same message in Bomet County and urged him to instead concentrate on his Senatorial seat.

“Salat wewe uko ndaani ndaani ndaani ya NASA, now uko ndaani ndaani ya wapi, hebu atuambie.

Ruto stated that Nick Salat’s political position was not known after making a u-turn a short while after he had supposedly joined NASA.

“Ako ndani wapi? Ndani ya Jubilee, KANU, Jubilee au Ndani ya Nyumba?” Stated Ruto.

Governor Ruto also accused the office of the president of trying to manipulate the primaries of his CCM Party in his county, set to start on Thursday.

Ruto claimed that his CCM party had been selectively barred from conducting its nominations in primary schools within the county.

He claimed that the selective application of policies ahead of the nomination exercise was being hatched to favour Jubilee ahead of the nomination exercise.

The governor called on the Education director and the police to keep off the elections in the county and they would not accept the favouritism being advanced to Jubilee.

Ruto’s comments came hours after he announced that he had cut ties with the Jubilee Party and officially joined the National Super Alliance as its fifth principal.

The Bomet Governor was officially welcomed into NASA on Thursday at the Bomas of Kenya.
