Boniface Mwangi Joins Politics, Speaks on Joining Jubilee or CORD

Human Rights Activist Boniface Mwangi has announced his entry into politics indicating that he will run for the Starehe Parliamentary seat in the upcoming General Election.

Speaking during the unveiling of his new book 'UnBounded' at Alliance Française on Saturday, Mwangi made it very clear that he would never join Jubilee or CORD but will run as an independent candidate.

“I am counting on your love, votes and financial support to become the next Starehe MP. Together we can do it.”

“I will vie as an independent candidate or join a party that l can identify with. For the record Jubilee or CORD doesn’t speak for me, l won’t and l will NEVER join them,” Mwangi affirmed.

The human rights activist will be seeking to dethrone the incumbent Maina Kamanda.

The photojournalist has been a fierce critic of the jubilee administration which he accuses of abetting rampant corruption in the country.

Mwangi is currently embroiled in a legal tussle with Deputy President William Ruto after he was sued for defamation by the latter.
