Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba Wants NASA Co-principals Musalia Mudavadi or Moses Wetangula to be Named Flagbearer

Budalangi Member of Parliament (MP) Ababu Namwamba has asked NASA Co-principals Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula to strive for one of them to be the coalition's flag bearer.

Speaking during the opening of a labour party office in Bungoma West sub-county,  Namwamba claimed the Luhya community should get a chance to vie for the presidency in the August poll pointing out the support they had shown to other presidential candidates in the previous years.

"Let my brothers Mudavadi and Wetang'ula stand ground and demand to be supported to fly the NASA flag," Namwamba stated.

The MP added: "For how long will members of the Luhya community support others? If they are not ready, let them make it public so that I start my preparations for 2022."

Namwamba relaunched his Labour Party of Kenya after he defected from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

The Budalangi MP is supporting President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election.

The four NASA principals- Raila Odinga (ODM), Musalia Mudavadi (ANC), Wetangula (Ford-Kenya) and Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper) are currently at a retreat in Kilifi to agree on a presidential candidate and a power-sharing formula if they beat President Kenyatta.
