Children Die in Narok Floods

Three people died on Monday evening in Narok County following a heavy downpour that hit the area destroying several houses.

The deceased, among them two children are said to have been swept by flash floods into a valley, at Talek area, where they were on their way home from grazing.

According to St John's Ambulance, by Tuesday morning, only one of the bodies had been recovered as rescue operations went on.

This comes as the latest death record amid the onset of the El Nino rains which are set to last until December.

Narok County has repeatedly been struck by deadly floods owing to the terrain in the area.

In April 2015, tens of people perished in Narok as heavy downpour that caused River Ngare-Narok to burst its banks, sweept away vehicles and houses.
