Court Wants The 'White Widow' Case Dropped

A court in Mombasa has asked for the closure of the case against British terror suspect Samantha Lewthwaite, labelled 'White Widow'.

The prosecutor proposed the case be closed as the police had failed to produce the terror suspect in court.

According to prosecutor Nicholas Kitonga, police need more time to find the suspect as her whereabouts are unknown.

An arrest warrant for the white widow was issued by Kenya in 2012 and to date, she has never been tracked down.

The case has stalled since then.

The 31-year old mother of four is a key figure in the jihadist terror group, Al Shabaab.

Lewthwaite is accused of possessing explosives and planning terrorist attacks in several areas at the coastal region of Kenya.

She has also been linked to the WestGate Mall terror attack, where unidentified gun men attacked the premises on September 2014, leaving 67 people dead and over 175 others injured.

The white widow is believed to be involved in deadly terror attacks around the globe.

She was placed on Interpol's 'Red Notice' of most wanted people in 2013.
