Dagoretti South MP Dennis Waweru Denies Claims that Central Kenya Politicians Met to Plan William Ruto Fall

Dagoretti South Member of Parliament (MP) Dennis Waweru has dismissed allegations that some aspirants from the Central region who lost in the just concluded Jubilee nominations - including himself - had met to plan Deputy President William Ruto's fall on Sunday.

Mr Waweru further stated that the reports were meant to create a rift between the Central and Rift Valley where President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy Ruto hail from respectively.

He further pointed the finger at the opposition coalition, National Supper Alliance (NASA), indicating that it was responsible for peddling rumours and circulating them on social media.

“I am not aware of any meeting that took place on Sunday in a city hotel. I was not part of any meeting and those people trying to link me with such kind of malicious, false information should stop from trying to divide Jubilee,” stated Mr Waweru.

Reports had emerged on Tuesday morning that some politicians from the Central region were offended and had accused the DP of interfering in the party's nomination exercise to rig them out.

It was further claimed that the said group was planning to ditch the Jubilee Party and form their own political party.

Kiambu Governor William Kabogo, former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth, Kigumo MP Jamleck Kamau, Priscilla Nyokabi (Nyeri Woman Rep), Charles Kanyi aka Jaguar (Starehe MP aspirant), Cecily Mbarire (MP, Runyenjes), Murang'a senator Kembi Gitura and Mr Waweru were listed as part of the aggrieved group.
