A woman was kicked out of a hospital in Samburu County after her husband allegedly failed to consent to a cesarean operation to be conducted on her.
Peter Lekaaso, husband to the victim, claimed that his wife ended up giving birth outside Samburu County Referral Hospital while doctors watched.
“They told us if you do not want her (Etupushua Lekaaso) to be operated on, then take her home,” said one of the relatives.
Speaking in Swahili, Mr Lekaaso further stated that nurses in the hospital were rude and threw them out for allegedly bothering them.
The child who got hurt during the birth process, however, got delivered safely considering the circumstances that surrounded the situation.
The same hospital was involved in the death of Pamela Lesilele, a mother who died 17 hours after giving birth. The woman was allegedly neglected by doctors who were on nightshift after a undergoing a cesarian section.
The two incidents where one woman died after a C-Section, while the other ended up being neglected for supposedly rejecting operation, have sparked protests from the locals who are now pleading with the County Government to intervene.
Samburu County Referral Hospital is yet to respond to the two incidences,
