DP Ruto Dismisses Agreement Signed by NASA Principals

Deputy President William Ruto has dismissed the Coalition agreement signed by the National Super Alliance (NASA) principals on Wednesday.

Speaking in Kilifi County, Ruto said that Jubilee would defeat the Opposition despite any agreement they signed or reached.

"Wakipanga kugawana mamlaka na viti vinne sisi tunaendelea kufanya maendeleo," Ruto stated.

Loosely translated, "As they plan to share power and four positions... We are continuing with our development agenda."

Ruto's sentiments come after NASA principals Raila Odinga, Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetangula and Kalonzo Musyoka signed the coalition agreement in Lavington, Nairobi.

According to the principals, the agreement explains the structure of the alliance and the criteria that will be sued to select the presidential flagbearer.

At the same time, Odinga announced that the alliance would hold its first rally in Ruto’s backyard.

“NASA is now alive and kicking, our first rally will be in Eldoret on Saturday,” the former Prime Minister said.

The former Prime Minister also refuted claims that the agreement was a formula for sharing power and dishing out positions, adding that it was the roadmap to return Kenya on the right track.
