A survey conducted by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has revealed Kenyans who pay the most bribes.
According to the report released on Tuesday, 20.7 percent of Kenyans pay bribes while seeking medical attention in the country.
People seeking Identification Cards (ID) come in second at 18.4 percent, while those applying for birth certificates were rated third at 13.4 percent.
The findings contained in the National Survey on Corruption and Ethics, 2015 Report, exposed that Kenyans seeking registration of land and those reporting a case or writing a statement stood at 10.2 and 8 percent respectively.
Other services that attracted bribes include bailing arrested individuals (7.1 percent), following up a case (4.8 percent), seeking business permit (3.5 percent), seeking devolved funds (1.9 percent), pursuit for employment (1.9 percent), obtaining a reference letter among others.
The research further indicated that those receiving tenders paid the highest amount of bribes at an average amount of Sh275,000, while those seeking employment paid a whopping Sh116,000.
The perception survey also named Interior and Coordination Ministry as the most affected by graft, standing at 40.3 percent, with the Health Ministry coming in second at 14.3 percent.
EACC's report furhter mentioned Murang'a County as the most corrupt with a bribery score of 3.78 followed by Embu County which had 2.53.
Bomet County took the third position with a bribery score of 2.46, Kisii with 2.41, while Wajir closed the list of most corrupt counties with a score of 2.33.
