Eldoret Nun who Cried Blood to be Investigated

The Catholic Church in Eldoret has formed a task force to investigate the extent of truth in the life history of Sister Anna Ali who reportedly cried blood every Thursday for 25 years.

According to Vicar General Eldoret Diocese William Kogei, the team would determine whether the Sister is fit to be confirmed as a servant of God before being declared blessed and later a Saint.

The probe which would be under the guidance of Archbishop Cornelius Korir, is to be conducted through gathering of information and testimonies from congregations across Kenya to look into her miraculous deeds.

“The information will then be analysed and presented to the Vatican headquarters in Rome, for further analysis by a special team," said Fr. Kosgei.

According to the Father, the process will not focus on how long she served, but rather the heroic deeds she did while a nun before her sudden death in 2012.

According to a report by  the StandardSister Anna was born in December 29, 1966 at Kipkelion Kericho County. Her parents, Ali Adulrahmani and Prisca Nyambura later took her to Kipkelion Primary School and Koru Girls for her high school studies.

She entered the convent in 1986 and got her first vision in 1987 but her life changed in 1988 while in Rome, when Jesus allegedly appeared in her tears of blood.

"On Corpus Christi Thursday 1988, Jesus appeared to Sister Anna in tears of blood. On both occasions, she requested Jesus if she could photograph Him since she could not draw," read part of the book by Bishop Korir, ‘On The Eucharist A Divine Appeal.’

The book further stated that since the bizzare occurrence, Sister Anna kept shedding tears of blood every Thursday till her death in June 6, 2012. She was buried at St Patrick’s Catholic Parish, Burnt Forest, within Eldoret Diocese.
