'Female Viagra' Could Soon Reach the Kenyan Market

For the first time in history The Food And Drugs Administration( FDA) on Tuesday approved a 'female viagra' for treatment of low sex drive in women.

The pink pill, which will be marketted as “Addyl” had been submitted for approval in the past, but never passed.

The FDA in the US approved the drug which will be used for treatment of reduced sexual desire in women.

The regulator describes the drug's purpose as “treatment of hypoactive sexual desorder (HSDD) in premenopausal women."

"This is the biggest breakthrough in women's sexual health since the advent of 'the Pill'" for contraception, The National Consumers League said in a statement.

Some of the concerns raised before include its side effects, which include low blood pressure- this results in nausea, dizziness and fainting.

The side effects have led to a warning in prescription. One should avoid alcohol when when using the drug.
