First Lady Margaret Kenyatta Mourns the Passing of Her Classmate

First Lady Margaret Kenyatta is in mourning after she lost a close friend and classmate, Mrs Judith Nini Njaga Lacassagne, who was laid to rest in Kabete, Kiambu County.

On Thursday, the First lady joined family and friends of the late Lacassagne who was buried at her parents home.

Mrs Lacassagne died last week on Saturday morning and is among the pioneers of Kianda School, Nairobi together with the First lady.

During the burial ceremony at Mwimuto village, the First Lady eulogised the deceased as a talented poet and fine artist.

Margaret also revealed that the late Mrs Lacassagne had composed a song that was used during her (First Lady's) wedding.

Together with other pioneers of Kianda school, they recited a short poem in memory of the deceased.

The First Lady, who also delivered the condolences of President Uhuru Kenyatta to the bereaved family, described the deceased as an intelligent person.

The deceased is survived by her husband Ludovic Lacassagne and three children.
