Former Nairobi Mayor Incitement Remarks Spark Outrage

Kenyans on Thursday morning took to social media to call for the arrest of former Nairobi Mayor, George Aladwa, for inflammatory and offensive utterances after a video posted by The Star circulated online prompting reactions.

During a rally held in Kibra, Aladwa was recorded saying that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) had one bullet left and if its leader, Raila Odinga, did not win the 2017 presidential election, some people would have to die.

Using the hash tag #ArrestAladwa, Kenyans urged the Director Of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Keriako Tobiko, to take action against Aladwa for his ignorant and reckless comments.

Kenyans on twitter, called on the Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinett to apprehend him claiming prejudice if this issue would not be handled in the same manner as that of Gatundu South legislator Moses Kuria.

The former Mayor said that if ODM would be denied victory irregulary, then clashes would arise. Aladwa added that Raila had to get into State House and they would not be easily shaken by the current government.

Following the outcry, the DPP has urged the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to conduct speedy investigations and interrogate Aladwa for his offensive utterances.

#ArrestAladwa and let's see if this will be handled like another Moses Kuria incident so we know if justice is fair to all or above some.
