Former President Mwai Kibaki has opened up on his health status revealing that he had been experiencing speech difficulties.
Speaking at Nanyuki Sports Club during the launch of Laikipia gubernatorial aspirant Nderitu Muriithi's manifesto, Kibaki explained that he was speaking in a low tone since he had an issue with his throat.
"I have a problem here, that is why my voice is so low...It is good to talk the truth because there is nothing to hide," he stated.
He, however, assured that he was healthy and ready to traverse the country whenever he would be required to do so.
Earlier in March, Kibaki raised eyebrows following his speech during the late Nyeri Governor Nderitu Gachagua’s burial, which a majority claimed was incoherent.
Some, especially on social media, expressed concern over his health complaining that his statements were disjointed and incomprehensible.
