Government Announces Tomorrow Will Not Be a Holiday

Tomorrow will not be a public holiday, the government has announced.

Speaking during a press address at Harambee House, State House spokesperson Manoah Esipisu said tomorrow will a normal working day, despite the expected disruptions as the US president jets into the country.

He instead assured city residents that police will guide motorists following road closures on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The state house spokesman further said Mombasa Road will not be shutdown completely, however, there will be changes in traffic flow.

Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed said there will be signing of agreements on infrastructure, education, health, taxation and visa extensions during Mr Obama’s visit.

The foreign affairs CS also sought to clarify that there is no planned meeting between Mr Obama and Deputy President William Ruto as “it is not the practice worldwide for deputy presidents to have separate bilateral talks” with visiting leaders.
