Government Clears 30 Suspects From Al Shabaab List

The government has taken 30 people and firms from the list of suspected terror-linked people.

The terror watch list naming 85 companies and individuals, who were under investigations,  had been published in April this year.

They were suspected of having played various roles in Al-Shabaab related activities

Earlier this week, Inspector-General of Police Joseph Boinnet released a subsequent list that contains names of the individuals and firms who had proved they have nothing to do with the terror group.

The lists includes; bus companies, money transfer institutions and individuals.

Prominent in the list are; Tawakal, E Coach, Juba Express, Sabrin Bus Services, UAE Exchange, City to City Services, Amana and Dahabshiil.

The move by the government in April came after the terror attack on Garrissa University College which left 148 people dead.

55 companies and persons, including wanted terror suspect Mohamed Kuno (Gamadheere), still on the terror list. Their fate is yet to be known.
