Grandmother Stabs Child Severally Over Milk

A 58-year-old woman on Saturday, repeatedly stabbed her 7-year-old granddaughter for allegedly taking too long to take milk home at a village in Bungoma Central.

Eunice Naliaka is said to have stabbed Joyce Nafuna on the head and other parts of her body, before going on the run after the incident.

Speaking to Journalists on Monday, Nafuna's mother said she got a call from her father who informed her of the shocking occurrence.

“My father called and told me that my mother had killed my daughter,” she stated.

The woman narrated that her mother sent Nafuna to buy milk, but she had to wait for the cows to be milked hence returning late.

Nafuna, who had been living with her grandmother since January, got home and was ordered to prepare breakfast. It was at this point that the elderly woman followed her to the kitchen and stabbed her several times before she was rescued by neighbours.

The girl is currently nursing serious wounds at Bungoma County Referral Hospital.

Nafuna's mother, who works as a househelp in Nakuru, urged the police to arrest her mother for the heinous act.

Bungoma OCPD David Kirui affirmed that the woman would be tracked using her cellphone and charged with assault.
