I Don't Support Jubilee or CORD - Ababu Namwamba Says

Budalang'i Member of Parliament (MP) Ababu Namwamba on Wednesday denied claims that his party (Labour Party of Kenya) had entered into an agreement to work with President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee Party.

Namwamba's announcement comes barely a month after he pledged to work with Kenyatta during his tour in western.

Speaking during a public forum in Budalang'i, Busia County, the MP divulged that LPK was an independent party and it was yet to decide whether to support CORD or Jubilee.

“LPK has not decided whether to support CORD or Jubilee in the upcoming General Election,” the legislator affirmed.

Namwamba further accused the Jubilee Party of impunity and arrogance, stating that that they will not allow them to take Kenyans down the drain.

Meanwhile, During Kenyatta's visit to western in early December, Namwamba pledged to work with Kenyatta in order to spearhead development in the region.

"My decision to work with Jubilee is all about mature politics that will deliver meaningful development to our community. That is the direction to go politically," the MP stated.

Mr Namwamba, was Raila Odinga's right-hand man until early in 2016 when he quit ODM, claiming that he had been sidelined in critical decision-making.
