Tigania East MP Mpuru Aburi, who was elected on an ODM ticket in 2013 but has since defected to Jubilee, has claimed that Opposition leader Raila Odinga will kill him if he wins the upcoming polls.
Speaking on Friday in Meru town, Aburi did not disclose why he alleged that the Opposition leader would kill him but said he would be on standby in one of the country's borders during the announcement of the results.
“If Raila wins this election I will be the first person he will kill...I will be on standby at one of the borders, ready to run away," Mr Aburi was quoted.
The vocal legislator, who once claimed that Odinga is his brother, vowed to mobilise the Ameru people to vote for President Uhuru Kenyatta and ensure the former Prime Minister doest not win.
"I will ensure President Uhuru wins the Presidential seat because I cannot stand a Raila government," he said.
Mr Aburi also warned Kenyatta to focus his attention on areas that supported him instead of wasting time with zones considered Opposition strongholds.
“I am telling you, you must come and camp in Meru because it’s yours. Stop concentrating on people who did not vote for you," the legislator said.
The MPs sentiments come barely a week after the National Super Alliance (NASA) held a rally in Meru where residents turned out in large numbers to attend the Opposition rally.
