Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet has recommended that pastor James Ng’ang’a of Neno Evangelism be charged with the killing of a woman.
In a fresh report handed over to the Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko today, the IG has directed that the pastor be charged for causing death through dangerous driving.
The report also recommends that disciplinary action be taken against the police officers who attended to the accident scene.
This comes amid mounting pressure from the public for action to be taken against the televangelist.
Speculations have been rife that the police department was out to defeat justice by covering the crime allegedly committed by the pastor.

In what comes as a fresh twist to a week’s long controversial road accident , Boinett has also recommended that Simon Kuria, who testified in court that he was behind the wheel of the Ranger Rover that caused the accident, be charged.
The IG had earlier issued a report indicating that the range rover involved in the accident did not belong to pastor Ng'ang'a.
The pastor is accused of causing an accident, at Manguo area in Limuru, that killed a woman and left the husband seriously injured.
Ngang'a's fate now lies with the DPP who may either agree with the recommendations, reject them or order further probe depending on strength of evidence provided.
