Isaac Mwaura Reveals He Used Sh29 Million to Campaign in Ruiru Jubilee Nominations

Nominated Member of Parliament (MP) Isaac Mwaura has revealed that he used over Sh29 Million to fund his unsuccessful campaign in the just concluded Jubilee nominations.

Mwaura was speaking on Citizen TV where he disclosed that he spent the huge amount in campaigning for Ruiru Parliamentary ticket which he lost.

The MP emerged a distant third in the contest after he garnered 4,632 votes against Simon Ng'ang'a King'ara's 10,900 votes. Incumbent MP Esther Gathogo was second with 7,340 votes.

In a statement sent to newsrooms, Mwaura conceded defeat and congratulated the winner and wished him all the best.

The MP ditched the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) in August 2016 stating that the decision to join the Jubilee party was the will of the Ruiru people.

Before the nominations, Mwaura hit headlines after he recorded a statement at Ruiru police station claiming that there had been an assassination attempt against him.

He accused his opponent King'ara of planning the alleged assassination, a claim that the Ruiru Police Boss refuted.
