Journalist Attacked In Eastleigh

Two suspects were on Sunday night gunned down in Nairobi's Eastleigh estate after they attempted to steal from a Journalist.

The Journalist was reportedly heading home when five thugs accosted him prompting him to scream for help.

Confirming the incident, Nairobi County Police boss Japheth Koome said that police around the area responded to the alarm, killing two of the robbers on the spot while the rest fled with injuries.

The Police boss further told the Star that the suspects were armed with a pistol and a dagger. They were also found with a mobile phone and other valuables stolen from the victim.

On the same night, a medical student from Nairobi University was shot and critically injured as he headed home from Kenyatta National Hospital where he was on night duty.

According to Koome, the assailant did not steal anything from the student who was alone at the time of the incident.
