Former Nation Media Group (NMG) journalist Denis Galava is reportedly considering to take legal action against his former employer over unfair dismissal.
Sources indicate that Galava, who was Special Projects Managing Editor, has served NMG with suit papers demanding for Sh425 Million as compensation.
According to the reports, the journalist is set to file the case against his former employer on Monday, for wrongful termination, infringement of his economic rights and being denied his right to freedom of expression through censorship.
The claims further stated that he would be suing the NMG CEO Joseph Muganda for defamation.
Mr Galava argued that the grounds for his sacking (not following editorial procedures) did not exist at the moment he parted ways with the company.
Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, Galava neither confirmed nor denied the reports, but promised to address the issue on Tuesday, a day after filing the case as indicated in emerging reports.
The former editor was fired for writing and publishing an editorial without submitting it to his seniors for approval. The Group cited that he was dismissed for failure to follow editorial procedure, an argument Galava rubbised claiming it was due to a critical article on President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Meanwhile, on whether he had since joined another media house, Mr Galava told Kenyans.co.ke that he was still a journalist and would only publicise information on the same issue next week.
