The Jubilee Party has been forced to form a disciplinary team to deal with leaders planning to cause chaos in its events.
The Party on Friday unveiled the committee which will be tasked with looking into cases of indiscipline especially as the nominations approach.
Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju affirmed that the team would take firm actions against those found guilty including disqualifying them from the party primaries.
“The disciplinary committee has been set up as announced by the President this week. It will be intolerant to people seeking to disrupt party functions or meting violence on opponents,” he stated.
Tuju further divulged that the committee would meet with the IEBC and other agencies to ensure those disqualified over indiscipline are blocked from hoping to other parties.
“The subject of agreement that we have with the IEBC, law enforcement agencies and the EACC is that if we disqualify someone, they should not be allowed in any other political parties,” asserted Tuju.
The move comes amid chaotic scenes witnessed during the election of Jubilee County Board officials in Nakuru, Nairobi and Kirinyaga.
On Tuesday, the proceedings were interrupted in Nakuru after MP David Gikaria reportedly engaged in a physical exchange with supporters of his rival which left him with bruises.
The same was witnessed a day later at the Bomas of Kenya where supporters of Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko and fellow gubernatorial aspirant Peter Kenneth clashed over the composition of the Board.
On Friday morning, officials participating in the elections in Kirinyaga descended on each other with chairs and tore apart election material, temporarily halting the event.
