Jubilee Official Noah Wekesa Admits IEBC is Registering Ugandans as Voters

A senior Jubilee official has for the first time confessed that Ugandans have been registering as voters in the ongoing mobilisation campaign.

Noah Wekesa, who was the founding Jubilee Party Chairman and currently an official in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s campaign team for the Western region, made the rather surprise admission on Thursday morning.

Speaking to Citizen TV, Wekesa stated that in his home county of Trans Nzoia, such cases are real given that the borders are porous and the situation is made worse by the fact that most of the Kenyans have a challenge accessing identity cards.

The former Minister added that since the mobilisation campaign has also seen the mass issuance of IDs, some people have been transporting Ugandans and having them registered with the IEBC.

“I want to state here clearly that I come from the border and the reality....Ugandans are being brought here in lorries and being registered as voters in Saboti and some other areas near the border,” Wekesa revealed.

Wekesa becomes the senior most member of the Jubilee coalition to admit this accusation that was first made by ODM leader Raila Odinga.
