Jubilee Party Allows Unregistered Voters to Vote in Nominations

The Jubilee Party National Elections Board has issued a directive allowing Kenyans not registered with the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to vote in the primaries.

They, however, stated that the members should all have a national identity card.

The Jubilee Party nominations kicked off on Monday in five counties after they were cancelled on Friday.

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Saturday explained that the party was overwhelmed by the high turnout of its supporters that caused inadequacy of ballot papers in almost all the polling centres.

The President, however, emphasised that Jubilee was committed to free, fair, transparent and credible nominations.

Jubilee will announce nomination results through the National Election Board (NEB), unlike other parties that have been announcing nomination results at the tallying centres in the counties.
