Jubilee Party Denies Summoning Mike Sonko, Mwangi wa Iria, Joseph Ndathi and David Gikaria Over Chaos

The Jubilee Party has denied summoning Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko, Murang’a Governor Mwangi wa Iria, his Kirinyaga counterpart Joseph Ndathi and Nakuru East MP David Gikaria for disciplinary action over chaos caused by their supporters.

Earlier reports had suggested that the four politicians had been called upon to face the Jubilee Party's disciplinary committee.

Jubilee Head of Communication Albert Memusi, however, dismissed the allegations stating that the party would not act on media reports before carrying out investigations on the chaos.

"The party can't make a decision to summon people just based on what has been published but it will have to look at the evidence presented before doing the summons,” he said.

Mr Memusi further revealed that the disciplinary committee was holding meetings to study the recent chaos.

Nakuru East MP David Gikaria recently influenced the supporters of his rival, former Nakuru Mayor Benson Mwangi, into a fight following a heated argument between the two sides.

In Murang'a, incumbent Governor Mwangi Wa Iria's supporters stormed a forum meant for selection of members of the County's Election board and engaged police officers in a fight.

In Nairobi, Sonko's supporters clashed with those of fellow gubernatorial aspirant Peter Kenneth during an exercise to elect the county board officials at the Bomas of Kenya.
