The Jubilee Party is on Friday expected to issue direct nomination certificates to eight top politicians at the Pangani headquarters.
Meru Senator Kiraitu Murungi, Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka, and Garissa Township Member of Parliament (MP) Aden Duale are among the politicians who will receive their certificates.
Other candidates who are set to get direct nomination include; Garissa Senator Yusuf Haji, Mandera Governor Ali Roba and MPs Aden Keynan (Eldas), Ben Washiali (Mumias East), and Mithika Linturi (Igembe South).
President Uhuru Kenyatta had earlier this month announced that no aspirant would be given a direct Jubilee nomination until the primaries are concluded.
“No one seeking our party’s ticket – from MCA to President – will be given a direct ticket until after the nominations are held and the electorate has picked their choice," Kenyatta stated.
The ruling party adopted the President's directive and is set to issue direct certificates after nominations unlike the opposition's Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) which issued direct certificates prior to the nominations.
Jubilee is currently receiving complaints from disgruntled aspirants and processing certificates for nomination winners.
Reports indicate that aspirants have filed close to 100 complaints with the party's appeals tribunal.
