Jubilee Party Politicians Under Investigation for Forged Academic Papers

At least six Jubilee party politicians face arrest following investigations by the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) that revealed possible forgery of their school certificates and college documents.

According to a letter from the DCI, Mvita parliamentary aspirants Mohammed Salim Mohamed alias Thenge, Hussein Kabilia and Lamu Senator hopeful Monica Njambi are under investigation for alleged forgery of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) certificate.

The DCI wrote to the JP Secretariat indicating that the culprits were likely to be prosecuted and charged after consultations with the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC).

Sources told The Standard that two other front runner aspirants from Kilifi County were also under investigation following ardent calls by opposition leaders to investigate gubernatorial aspirants from the ruling party.

Jubilee party Secretary General Raphael Tuju recently asserted that the party was committed to proper vetting of the candidates it will support for the upcoming General Election.

"We would not want a situation where the party could be locked out of elections because an aspirant cheated his way through by providing us with fake documents," he emphasized.
