Kalonzo Demands Raila Should Quit Presidential Race

Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka on Tuesday made a surprise demand to CORD leader Raila Odinga, insisting that he was the right candidate to fly the coalition’s Presidential flag.

Speaking during a rally in Machakos, Musyoka asked Odinga and his co-principal Moses Wetangula to be quick in reading the mood on the ground and get out of his way as he seeks to lead Kenyans in sending the Jubilee team home.

“"It is high time my brothers Raila and Wetang'ula got off my way so I can proceed as the man to wrestle Jubilee from power," Musyoka told his supporters at the Machakos bus park.

The Wiper leader added that he was the best qualified presidential candidate, adding that he would form an inclusive government for all Kenyans, free from corruption and tribalism.

The former Vice President appeared to pour cold water on the negotiations that have been going on under the CORD steering committee that is co-chaired by Senators Johnson Muthama and James Orengo.

"Raila and Wetang'ula should know I am the lion that (senator) Muthama talks about, and I will no longer use diplomatic language to agitate for my position, for there is no diplomacy here in Kenya,” he warned.

Musyoka has previously accused Muthama of undermining him by siding with Odinga in the committee's negotiations, even though the Machakos Senator is nominated to represent Wiper's interests.
