Kalonzo Musyoka Foundation to Sue After NGO Coordination Board Froze Its Accounts

In a show of defiance to a directive by the NGO Coordination Board suspending its operations, the Kalonzo Musyoka Foundation is still serving its beneficiaries, Kenyans.co.ke has learnt.

A senior employee of the Foundation disclosed that they are likely to proceed to court to challenge a decision to freeze the organization's accounts, a move that the Foundation's Patron, Kalonzo Musyoka, termed illegal.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, the official who did not wish to be named maintained that the Kalonzo Musyoka Foundation would remain operational until it is served with necessary legal documents suspending its operations.

By Thursday evening, the Foundation had not received the letter from the NGO Coordination Board freezing its accounts and suspending its operations.

He disclosed that the matter is currently with the Foundation's Legal team, adding that they would continue focusing on serving Kenyans in need, just as the organization has been doing over the years.

Refering to a statement by Kalonzo, our source maintained that the Foundation views the move as political as it has complied with all legislations and was duly registered.

This comes as NGO Council emerged with claims that the NGO Coordination Board did not consult it prior to freezing the accounts and suspending operations of the foundation.

Musyoka yesterday linked Deputy President William Ruto and powerful individuals within the government for his woes, allegations that Ruto's team strongly denied.
