KDF Soldier Killed After Returning From Somalia

A family in Baringo County is mourning the loss a Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldier found murdered outside his home two days after returning from Somalia.

Stanley Kipkolomi was found with deep cuts in the neck on Monday night having arrived home from duty on Friday.

According to witnesses, when the slain soldier arrived at his local town on the fateful day, he decided to stay up late catching up with friends.

His cousin, Ann Mosop, recalled that Kipkolomi arrived in the country on Friday and confirmed to his family that he would be held up in Nakuru after which he would head home.

Victor Kiprotich, a neighbour, further said that when Kipkolomi arrived home, he knocked at the door waiting to be received by his wife. Kiprotich said that the soldier's wife heard some commotion outside and decided to alert neighbours.

He added that upon opening the door, the widow noticed some blood stains, personal belongings and scattered household goods which the deceased had bought for the family.

They embarked on a search after which they found the soldier's mutilated body dumped near his house.
