Kenya Defence Forces(KDF) Soldiers Kill 52 Al Shabab Terrorists

The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) on Friday killed 52 Al Shabaab militia during a sting operation in Badhaadhe region of lower Juba.

KDF Spokesman Colonel Joseph Owuoth in a statement explained that the operation was conducted after intelligence agents spotted the terrorists in lower Juba.

"The intelligence-led operation was conducted after surveillance assets sighted Al Shabaab terrorists in the location.

"Ground troops supported by mortar and artillery fire were employed to neutralize the camp thereafter," Owuoth's statement read in part.

The Spokesman further noted that other terrorists fled with injuries during the sting operation.

He explained that the raid was successful as it totally destroyed the Al Shabaab camp in Badhaadhe and recovered a host of crude weapons used by the terrorists in their attacks.

"We managed to recover seven AK rifles, one gun, two phones, 104 bullets, 3 IED, assorted IED making material and foodstuff," Owuoth stated.

The triumph by KDF comes only a weeks after the (KDF) killed 15 Al Shabaab terrorists in an operation in West of Catamaa.
