Kenya Defence Forces Airstrike Destroys Al Shabaab Training Base

The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) have bombed Al Shabaab training and logistic bases in Kanjaron, Somalia.

Using its MD-500 combat helicopter on Wednesday, KDF launched fresh air raids on Al Shabaab stations near the southern port city of Kismayo, killing an unconfirmed number of fighters and recruits.

Reports from reliable sources indicate that the midday strike was conducted by the Kenyan forces fighting under the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM).

This attack comes in the wake of another assault that was conducted by the KDF soldiers on Tuesday leaving 15 terrorists dead.

On Saturday morning, a top Al Shabaab Commander was killed following a failed ambush on a Somalia National Army (SNA) camp.

The fighters had attempted to overrun the military base but were repulsed by SNA with the help of their Kenyan counterparts.
